Coletta V. Pannell, 81, of Sapulpa, died Tuesday at
the Northside Nursing Center in Sapulpa.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in the First
Church of God at Sapulpa with the Revs. Jess Elkins
and Richard Handy officiating.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at
Benjamin Funeral Service in Nowata and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at the First Church of God in Sapulpa.
Interment will be in Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery
under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Service of
Nowata.
Coletta V. Pannell began this life September 3. |921 in Alluwe. Okla. as the
daughter of William Earl Stookey and Nancy Rebecca (Baker) Stookey. Mrs. Pannell
grew up in the old Alluwe community where she graduated from Alluwe High School;
She was married to James Wilbur Pannell on September 25. 1940 at Claremore.
After 30 years of marriage. they divorced in 1969. Mrs. Pannell moved to Tulsa
where she worked for McDonnell~Douglas and then moved to Chicago where she
continued to work for McDonnell-Douglas. Mrs. Pannell moved to Vinita in l950.
and then to Miami. Okla. in 1954 where she lived until moving to Sapulpa five
years ago to be near her daughter. Mrs. Pannell was a member of the First Church
of God at Sapulpa. Her family was a source of pride and enjoyment to her.
Mrs. Pannell is survived by one daughter. Charlotte (Pannell) Keeton and her
husband Ray of Sapulpa: by three grandchildren. Christopher Aaron Douglas with
the U.S. Air Force in Grand Forks. N.D.. Charbeigh (Douglas) Burns of Tulsa.
Okla.. and Chaunlay (Douglas) Beck of Sapulpa. Okla.; by three
great-grandchildren: by one brother. Ralph McKay of Claremore. Okla.: by two
sisters. Waunlla (Stookey) Fair of Oklahoma City. Okla. and JoAnn (Smokey) Fluke
of Miami. Okla., by other relatives. and by her friends.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte
(Pannell) and Ray Keeton of Sapulpa; three
grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother,
Ralph McKay of Claremore; and two sisters, Waunita (Stookey) Fair of Oklahoma City and JoAnn
(Stookey)
