Mrs. Robert (Helen Berniece) Powers, 79, of Sapulpa, died Thursday.

Funeral services will be 10 am Saturday at First Christian Church with Tony Thornton and Tom Tucker officiating.

Burial will follow at South Heights Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

She was born Feb 24, 1921, in Drumright, and moved to Sapulpa 69 years ago. She attended Sapulpa schools and married Robert Powers on Feb 4, 1947 in Sapulpa.

She was a homemaker and a member of Southside Christian Church. She was a strong supporter of the Salvation Army and enjoyed square dancing.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, O. B. Knight and Lavern R. Knight.

Survivors include her husband Robert; son Ron of Sapulpa; sister Hazel Wiggins of Sapulpa; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services for Helen Powers, 69, were held Saturday at the First Christian Church with Tommy Tucker and Tony Thornton officiating.

Burial followed in the South Heights Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Casketbearers were Gene Meyers, Gerald Miller, J.D. Walts, Elmer Neel and Hubert Jackson.

Honorary bearers were Margie Miller, Bill Berry, Mary Margaret Smeltzer, Gary Schell, Park Slusher, Ray Harrison, Bob Basinger, Pat Prey, Howard Gaines, Cecil McCracken and Bud Martelle.
