Alice Louise Bigpond Roach, 66, Lincoln, Neb., died Sunday, May 21, 1995.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Green Hills Memorial Gardens Chapel with the Rev. Harry Long officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Memorial Gardens, directed by Owen Funeral Home.
She was born July 20, 1928 in Mounds to Albert and Nellie Cooper Bigpond.
She married Delius Roach on April 23, 1948.
She was of the Methodist faith and a member of Trinity Methodist Church in Lincoln. She was Director of Employment and Training for Lincoln Indian Center. She was a nine-year member of the Private Industry Council, served on the Executive and Strategic Planning Committees for the Community human Services Planning Council, the Board of Directors of the Leadership Lincoln, the Lincoln Action Program. She was President of the Nebraska Indian Education Association and served on the Nebraska Commission for National and Community Service. Grants for American Indians in Nebraska and the National Advisory Council for Native American Employment and Training. She was co-chair of the National Indian Adult Education Association, Euchie Tribe.
Survivors include her husband, Delius Roach, of the home; three sons, Church Roach, San Antonio, Texas, Damon roach, Plainview, Neb., and Kevin Roach, Kearney, Neb.; a brother, Roy Bigpond, Stillwell; a sister, Ruth Olney, Toppenish, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A public funeral service was scheduled today at Trinity United Methodist Church, Lincoln, with the Revs. Lauren Ekdahl and Reeves Nahwood officiating. A private family service was set at Butherus, Maser and Love Chapel in Lincoln. A tribute was also planned from the Governor of Nebraska at the state capitol.
Donations may be made to the Alice Roach Scholarship Fund of the Nebraska Indian Education Association. Owen Funeral Home directed arrangements.
The family will headquarter at the Nigel Bigpond home in Liberty Mounds.

Survivors include her husband, Delius Roach, of the home; three son, Chuck Roach, San Antonio, Texas, Damon Roach, Plainview, Neb., and Kevin Roach, Kearney, Neb.; a brother, Roy J. Bigpond, Stillwell (sp); two sisters, Ruth Olney, Toppenish, Wash., and Phyllis Bigpond, Phoenix, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
