Will Rogers Rites Friday
Funeral services for William (Will) Rogers, 75, Sapulpa businessman over 50
years, will be at 2 pm Friday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Howard Allen
and the Rev. Harold Morgan officiating.
Owner of Rogers Electric, 5 S. Main, Rogers died shortly after noon
Wednesday. He came to Sapulpa in 1905 and opened his electrical company in 1918.
He was also a motion picture operator and a life member of the motion picture
operators union and president of the local motion picture operators.
He was a member of West Side Baptist Church and was a past master of Euchee
Lodge 524, a member of KCCH and the McAlester Consistory. He was a member of
IBEW, electrical union.
Surviving is his wife, Esther, of the home, 515 E. Lincoln; two sons, Gene
Rogers, Hollywood, Calif.; William Rogers, Jr.,
215 S Walnut; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Walker, Blue Springs, MO; Mrs. Doris
Yocham, 401 S. Oak; six grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; and a sister,
Mrs. Betty Wilson, Oklahoma City.
