WAPAKONETA, Ohio -- Sylvia M. Ryan, 85, of Wapakoneta, Ohio, died Saturday at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima, Ohio.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 am Tuesday at Long and Folk Funeral Home in Wapakoneta. Officiating at the service will be Rev. Donald E. Davis, Associate Pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Wapakoneta.

Burial will follow at Hartford Church Cemetery in Spencerville, OH, under the direction of Long and Folk Funeral Home.

She was born May 31, 1908, in Chandler to I. F. and Oeta (Hays) Dorland. She was a retired bookkeeper. Ryan was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 691 Auxiliary, American Legion Post 330 Auxiliary and Brands Lake Fishing Club, all in Wapakoneta. Ryan attended business college in Sapulpa. She was a former member of a Methodist Church in Midland, TX.

Ryan was married three times: to Claude Varger, Vernon Kelin and Guy Ryan, all preceding her in death. While married to Claude Varger, she resided in Sapulpa.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Glenn, Dillard and Elmer; and three sisters, Edna, Emma and Nellie.

Survivors include her sister, Alma Jean Bell, with whom she made her home; also several nieces and nephews.
