Dr. Schwab Dies of Heart Attack; Pioneer Physician

Funeral Rites Incomplete; He Had Practiced Here Longer Than Any Other of Local Doctors

Dr. B. C. Schwab, frequently called the dean of Sapulpa physicians, because of his long tenure of service in this community, died yesterday afternoon at the Tulsa clinic of a heart attack.

He has lived here for 38 years. Dr. Schwab was 67 years old. His residence is at 209 South Popular street.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Louise Schwab, and one daughter, Mrs. Putnam Davis of Milbrook, Greenwich, Conn. Mrs. Davis is enroute to Sapulpa. Two small grandsons survive.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete today but will under the direction of Landrith Funeral Home.

Dr. Schwab was a 33rd degree Mason and was prominent in state and regional Masonic circles and has held high Masonic offices in the State of Oklahoma. He devoted a great deal of his spare time to consistory work. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge.

He was one of the original members of the Sapulpa Country Club.

Dr. Schwab served as president of the County Medical Association as well as the early day city medical organization and was likewise a member of the State Medical Association.

He serviced in years past as Frisco railway physician. He only recently resigned as Creek County physician to associate himself as one of the consulting physicians of the Tulsa clinic.

His offices were in the Berryhill building. He had practiced here longer than any other doctor.

Dr. Schwab came to Sapulpa as chief surgeon for the Frisco. In the years of 1910-11 he was associated with Dr. W. P. Longmire; Dr. McCallum and Dr. G. C. Croston in a private clinic which they called the Sapulpa City Hospital in the Wagner building on North Water Street.

He was born in Missouri and attended a medical school in St. Louis.
