John Ed Shanks, 71, Rt. 2, died Saturday at Bartlett Memorial Medical Center.

Funeral services were today at Owen Funeral Chapel with the Rev. T. Howard Allen officiating.

Burial followed at Green Hills Memorial Gardens.

Casketbearers were James Mullins, Donald Buteher, Bill Shanks, Kenneth Shanks, Bobby Shanks and Robert Lowe.

Mr. Shanks was born Jan 2, 1902, in Vian, and moved to Sapulpa 30 years ago. He was a self-employed truck driver.

Survivors include brother Bobby Shanks of Glenpool; sisters Lahoma Lowe and Lillian Mullins of Sapulpa, and Louise Brewer and Maud Leaf, both of Vian.
