Ivan Willard Sharp, of Sapulpa, died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2005 at the age of 85.

Ivan was born April 11, 1920 to Phillip and Bessie Gayles Sharp in Sparks. Ivan was a self-employed floor covering mechanic. He was a member of the Westside Freewill Baptist Church, and served in the U. S. Army during World War II. While in the Army he served in New Guinea, Papuan and the Philippines. He received a good conduct medal, Philippine Liberation ribbon, one bronze service star, AP service ribbon and three bronze service stars.

Ivan was preceded in death by his wife Wilma, in 1988; his parents; brothers Archie Thomas Burton Sharp, Finis ?Jack? Henry Sharp, Daniel Phillip Sharp and Lewis "Pete" Marvin Sharp; sister Martha Bell Noland; and a niece Kathy Lucille Brumley.

Survivors are nephews Jack Richard, of Edmond, and Daniel Phillip, Jr., of Enid; nieces Shirley Oney, of Broken Arrow; and numerous other nieces and nephews; close friends Lavelda and Tom Cannon.

Funeral services for Ivan have been set for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2005 in the Smith Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Kelly Phillips officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bixby Cemetery where full military rites will be accorded by the District 5 Rifle Squad.

Serving as casket bearers will be Roy Buckley, Doug Joseph, Jack Sharp, Greg Gaskins, Phil Kennedy and Donnie Trotter. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
