Mrs. Shipman Is Taken By Death 

Mother of Mrs. J. Harvey Smith Died Saturday Rites Today 

Funeral services for Mrs. Martha A. Shipman, age 87, mother of Mrs. J. Harvey Smith, were held at the Christian Church this afternoon at 3 o'clock with Rev. E. D. Salkeld officiating. Burial was made in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulsa. 

Mrs. Shipman died at the home of her granddaughter Mrs. Roy Turnbull, 112 North Linden late Saturday after an illness of almost two years. She had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Smith, for the past five years. 

Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs. R. E. L. Rhodes of Tulsa, and a sister, Mrs. Betty Hart of Wichita Kans. Six grand children survive and two great grand children. 

Her husband preceded her in death in 1925. 

Mrs. Shipman was an active member in the Christian Church for many years.
