Russel H. Shirley, 72, of Flint Ridge, died Thursday at his home.

Memorial services were Saturday in the Kansas Christian Church, Kansas, OK, with the Rev. Curtis Cox officiating.

Arrangements were by Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, AR.

Born on May 9, 1917, in Noble, IL, he was a construction worker. He had been a resident of Flint Ridge for six years, moving there from Sapulpa.

Survivors include his wife, Earlene Wherry Shirley of the home; two sons Larry L. Shirley of Houston, TX, and Roni Shirley of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Leroy (Sherry A.) Hendrix and Carol Ruth Shirley, both of Okmulgee; two brothers, Raymond P. Shirley of Brandenton, FL, and Gilbert Shirley of Toluca, IL; a sister, Catherine Ransom of Minonk, IL; 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
