Doyle Lee Simpson, 61, of Sapulpa, died Friday at Shawnee Medical Center in Shawnee.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm Monday, at Smith Funeral Chapel with Rev. Charles Hayes officiating.

Burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Gardens under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

He was born April 14, 1932, in Brazoria, Texas. A resident of Sapulpa for 25 years, he was a member of the Jehovah Witness Church, and employed as a carpenter and drywall worker.

Survivors include his wife, Pauline; son, Robert Simpson of California; daughters, Rhoda Harper of Bristow and Angela Simpson of Tulsa; stepsons, Gerald Jones and Ronnie Jones of Sapulpa, Roger Jones of Paris, Ark.; step-daughters, Lisa Wilkerson and Diane Payne, both of Sapulpa; brother, Yerby Wilson of Oklahoma; several grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services for Doyle Lee Simpson were held at 2 pm today in the Smith Funeral Chapel with Charles Hayes officiating.

Burial followed at Green Hills Memorial Gardens under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Serving as casket bearers were Gerald Jones, Steve Wilkson, Mike Harper, Charles Trimble, Sam Jones and Sam Billings.

Honorary casket bearers were Gary Wallace and Ron Jones.

Simpson, a longtime Sapulpa resident, died Friday in Shawnee.
