Herman Eugene Sindorf, Newkirk resident, died Tuesday January 12, 1999 in South Central Kansas Regional Medical Center in Arkansas City. He was 68.

The son of Herman Albert and Vivian (FINLEY) Sindorf, he was born February 18, 1930 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma.

As a small child, he moved with his parents to the Newkirk area where he grew up. He graduated from Newkirk High School in 1948.

In 1952 he entered the United States Marine Corps and received his basic training at Camp Pendleton, California. He served in Japan and was discharged in 1954.

He is survived by two sons, Rick E. Sindorf of Oklahoma City and Mark Sindorf of Topeka, Kansas; two daughters, Tonya R. Folsom of Sanford, Florida and Debbie Chamberlin of Kansas; his mother, Vivian Sindorf of Newkirk; one brother, Paul Sindorf of Newkirk; four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and a sister.

The funeral was held at 2 pm Friday, January 15, 1999 in the Miller-Stahl Funeral Chapel with the Rev. of the Newkirk First Baptist Church officiating.

Burial followed in Newkirk Cemetery under the direction of Miller-Stahl Funeral Service.
