Eula Ree Sloan, 80, of Sperry died Friday.

Funeral services were held today at Sperry Christian Church in Sperry with Rev. Chet Veazey officiating.

Burial followed at Wetumka City Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Sperry.

She was born April 11, 1913, in Wetumka, to Tom and Mary Lucas. She was a longtime Sperry resident teaching school for 37 years until her retirement. Her hobbies included arts and crafts. A member of the Turley Senior Citizens, she also enjoyed fishing with her husband and family.

She was preceded in death by husband, Jim Sloan, three brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include a step-daughter, Geraldine Norris of Sperry; stepson, Buddy Sloan of California; several nieces and nephews.
