John Clarance Small, 76, of Kiefer, died Tuesday at his home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm Friday, at South Heights Cemetery Chapel with Rev. Glen Hood officiating.

Burial will follow at South Heights Cemetery under the direction of Owen Funeral Home.

He was born March 21, 1916, in Shreveport, La., to Nellie Poinselle and W.F. Small. Mr. Small was a retired self-employed tank trust operator. He married Alice Nevitt in Sapulpa on July 11, 1942. He served in the United States Air Force from 1942 to 1945 in World War II. A resident of this area for most of his adult life, he moved here from Poteau. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Bud Small.

Survivors include his wife, Alice; brother, George Small of Eufaula; sister, Opal Ferguson of Sapulpa.

The family will headquarter at the Small residence south of Sapulpa.
