Claude Smith Died Monday
A Bristow resident since 1920, Claude M. Smith, died Monday at the
age of 81. He was born July 16, 1892.
Services were Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Dunaway Chapel with Dr.
T. Grady Nanney officiating. Interment was at the Magnolia Memorial
Cemetery.
Survivors are his wife, Nellie, of the home. Two daughters, Edith Sanders,
Duncan, and Theda Gilreath, Bristow, four sons, Earl Smith, Cleveland,
Okla. Emerson Smith, San Diego, Calif. Babe Smith and Joe Smith of Bristow,
15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Other survivors are a brother, Lee Bow Smith of Bixby and two sisters,
Mrs. Minnie Buchanan, Kiefer, and Emma Buff, Ponca City.
Active Pallbearers were Don Harjo, Raymond Sanders, Rex Cearley, Bill
Cearley, Jack Roller and Luther Soloman. Honorary pallbearers were J.C.
Jackson, William Harjo, Herb Abbott, and Jack Howard.

Nellie Edith Smith Service Tuesday
Funeral service for Mrs. Nellie Smith was 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Schumacher
Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. T. Grady Nanney officiated and interment was
in the Magnolia Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith died Sunday at the age of 80. She was born April 20, 1898
at Wakita. She had been a resident of Bristow since 1920.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude in 1974, and a son
Edgar Smith in 1945.
Surviving are four sons, Earl Smith, Emerson Smith and Joe Smith all
of Bristow, and Babe Smith Oklahoma City; two daughters, Edith Sanders,
Duncan and Theda Gilreath, Bristow; one brother, Merle Edgar, Oktaha;
15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
