Sam Harvey Smith, 77, of Glenpool, died Thursday at home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 am Wednesday at Owen Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ed Light officiating. Burial will follow in South Heights Cemetery.

He was born Nov 22, 1914, in Little Rock, AR, and married Lucille Bennett April 2, 1940, in St. Louis, MO. He was retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. and was a member of the Bell System Pioneers.

Survivors include wife Lucille; son Thomas Smith of Glenpool; daughter Jean Kerth of St. Louis, MO; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

In lieu of other remembrances, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s or Parkinsons Disease Foundations.

The family will receive visitors from 7-9 pm Tuesday and has requested no procession to the cemetery. They will headquarter at the family home in Glenpool.
