Shirley R. Smith, 64, of Sapulpa, passed from this life
Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005.
Shirley was born Nov. 2, 1941 to William and Lela Herd. On July
1, 1960 she married
James Smith in Bristow. She worked for the Creek County
Election Board, the Security National Bank, Creek County Lumber
and the
Sapulpa Herald.
She was preceded in death by her parents William and Lela Herd
and one grandson Austin Matney.
Survivors are her husband James, of the home, of Sapulpa;
children Sheila Brigance and her husband Claude, of Beggs, Nancy
Kandybowiez and her husband David, of Tulsa, and Randy Smith and
his wife Michelle, of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandchildren

Brigance, Jacob Brigance, Tanner Brigance, Faith Matney, Hope
Kandybowiez, Skyler Smith,
Hunter Smith;
great-grandchildren Averie
Brigance, Aubrie Brigance, Gracie Brigance; sister Pat
Millarr, of Tulsa; and brothers Bob Herd, of Mexico, and Tom
Herd, of Cleveland, Tenn.
Shirley was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother and loyal friend. Her family and friends will
miss her greatly. Nothing mattered more to her than her
children. Her children would like to thank her for the people
they have become due to her constant love and support. She will
remain in the hearts of the people who knew her for the rest of
their lives.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005 at the
Smith Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Taylor officiating. Her
final resting place will be in the
Green Hill Memorial
Gardens.
Serving as casket bearers will be Joe Tuttle, Jim Yeager,
Hershel Sampson, O.D. Martin, Denton Lafevers and Sid Ingram.
Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
