SAMUEL HENRY SORNBORGER
Samuel was born 1 October 1847 in Hudson, Michigan to Hamblen and Sarah
Hume Sornborger.
He married Ella May Chollette 7 January 1890 in Wahoo,
Nebraska. He practiced law in Nebraska for 20 years and for 8 years
was a district judge for 4 counties. In 1906 he and Ella came to Sapulpa
where he practiced law. They built a home at 402 South Poplar which
still stands today.
His picture can be found in a book titled "Makers
of Oklahoma" at the Oklahoma Historical Society in Oklahoma City.
This was when he participated in setting up the state government prior
to statehood in 1907. He died in 1917 and is buried in the Old Sapulpa
Cemetery in Sapulpa.
