John Franklin Stephens, 75, of Route 4 Box 176, Sapulpa, died Wednesday Jan 24, 1990 at Saint Francis Hospital, Tulsa. 

Services will be 10 am Saturday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. David Houchin officiating. 

Burial arrangements are pending with Owen Funeral Home. 

Mr. Stephens was born Feb 23 1914, in Coffeyville, KS. He moved to Sapulpa from Tulsa in 1949. He married Ina LEE, who preceded him in death in 1988. 

He was self-employed as a Sapulpa area car dealer for many years. 

Mr. Stephens was a member of First Baptist Church of Sapulpa. He also was a member of the Senior Pro-Rodeo Association, American Quarter Horse Association, Oklahoma Team Ropers Association, Old Timers Team Ropers Association, Sand Springs Round-Up Club and Sapulpa Round-Up Club. 

He was a past member of the Oklahoma Quarter Horse Association, Southwest Cowboys Association, Bristow Future Farmers of America Alumni and the International Rodeo Association. 

Survivors include son John F. Stephens and his wife, Evelyn, of Sapulpa, son Joe Stephens and his wife, Kathy, of Bristow; daughter Patty PARKER and her husband Gene of Sapulpa, daughter Glenda HORTON and her husband Ed, of Bixby, and daughter Joy WARD and her husband, Coy, of Sand Springs; brother Tom Stephens of Oroville, CA; sisters Myrtle WHITE of Fairfield, CA; and Devota ROACH of Tulsa; a very dear friend, Lilly COOK; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
