Alvin Sylvester Taylor, 65, 615 N. 2nd, died Monday at home.

Services will be 2 pm Friday at North Heights Freewill Baptist Church with the Revs. Jimmy Lane and Sam Gober.

Burial will be in Duck Creek Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

He was born April 11, 1925, in Brazoria, TX. He married his wife, Mary, June 27, 1948, in Sapulpa.

Mr. Taylor worked at the Big Four Foundry for 10 years and the Bartlett-Collins Glass Company for 20 years in the shipping department.

He was member of the First Freewill Baptist Church and the Core Makers Union.

Survivors include wife Mary; son Al Taylor of Sapulpa; daughters Rosie Simpson, Cathey Taylor and Phoenicia York, all of Sapulpa, and Joyce Wallace of Kellyville and Lorraine Manning of Mead; sisters Odessa Gaylor and Norma Zinn, both of Sapulpa; and 10 grandchildren.

The family will headquarter at the Gaylor home, 1134 E. Arch.

Funeral services for Alvin Sylvester Taylor were today at North Heights Freewill Baptist Church with the Revs. Jimmy Layne and Sam Gober officiating.

Burial followed at Duck Creek Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Casket bearers were Al Taylor, David Manning, Donnie Hoover, David Gleason, James Cole, and Keith Mandrell. Honorary bearers were Oscar Creason, Gary Hoover, Tommy Hoover, James Hoover, Junior Perryman, Lee Johnson and Troy Poarch.

Mr. Taylor, a longtime Sapulpa resident, died Tuesday at his home following an extended illness.
