Sept. 9, 2008

Services will be in Napa, California for Virginia Love Taylor who passed away peacefully in Santa Cruz, Calif., on Aug. 28, 2008, at the age of 91. Born in Oilton, Okla.

She was the daughter of Oklahoma pioneers, her father being born in Wagoner Indian Territory prior to Oklahoma’s admission to the United States. Mrs. Taylor moved to the Santa Cruz area five years ago and leaves many dear friends at Sunshine Villa, where she most recently was a resident.

Prior to moving to Santa Cruz, she and her late husband were longtime residents of the Sonoma and Napa area.

Mrs. Taylor taught school in Napa and was a member of The Napa Faculty Wife’s Association. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arlin Taylor in 1995. As a couple, they enjoyed traveling and camping in their R.V, and were members of the Napa Teepee Toters Camping Club. Following her teaching career, Mrs. Taylor earned her real estate license and worked as an agent in Napa for several years.

Her family will forever remember her love for chocolate, and her talents in various arts and crafts. She will be remembered by them as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who was extremely proud of her family cherished and cherishing the time she spent with them.

Mrs. Taylor is survived by her three sons and daughters in-law; Herbert and Pamela Taylor, of Aptos, Stephen and Xuyen Taylor, of Susanville, Calif., and Richard Taylor and Linda Beam of San Anselmo. She also leaves her loving grandchildren, Dale, Don, Garrett, Nancy, Derrick, and great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Liam, Ginger, Waylon and Dayton.

A memorial service was held at Richard Pierce Funeral Service, 1660 Silverado Trail in Napa, Calif. on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008. A private committal was held previously at Tulocay Cemetery in Napa. The family asks that any kind acts of charity be made to Napa Valley College Foundation (2277 Napa – Vallejo Highway, Napa, CA 94588) for the Dr. Arlin G. Taylor and Virginia L. Taylor Memorial Scholarship Fund.
