William J. (Bill) Taylor, 59, 819 W. Cleveland, died Wednesday at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa.

Services are pending with Smith Funeral Home.

Burial will be at Green Hills Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Taylor was born Jan 6, 1931, in Sapulpa, and lived in this area all his life.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the 45th Division during the Korean Conflict and served in the Army Reserve 17 years.

The former owner of Taylor Tool and Manufacturing Co., he was a member and elder of the Southside Christian Church, a 32nd degree Mason in the Sapulpa Masonic Lodge and a past board member of the Sapulpa Chamber of Commerce.

He was a former member of the Sapulpa City Commission, Sapulpa Municipal Planning commission and the Sapulpa Economic Development Board.

Mr. Taylor was also a former Creek County Deputy and a member of the Sapulpa Auxiliary Police for 30 years, serving as chief for nine years.

Survivors include wife Patricia; son Randy Taylor of Edmond; daughter Susie Raper of Sapulpa; brothers John Taylor of Coweta and Bobby Taylor of California; sister Peggy Frank of Sapulpa; and four grandchildren.

Services for William (Bill) Taylor will be 2 pm Friday at the First Christian Church with Tony Thornton and Tommy Tucker officiating.

Burial will be at Green Hills Memorial Gardens under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Casketbearers will be Rick Woolery, Steve Williams, Bill Brown, Bud Martelle, Gene Myers and Walt Andrews.

Honorary bearers will be Bill Wilkinson, Troy Wiggins, Jim Anderson, Dusty Flood, Jim Cain, Jack McKenzie, H.K. Jones, D.O. Clayton, Pat Pray, Park Slusher, Jack Thompson and Basker Johnson.

Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

In lieu of other remembrances the family suggests donations to the Southside Christian Church Memorial Fund, Box 121, Sapulpa.
