July 13, 2000 Funeral services for Velma Marice THOMAS were held July 7 at the Dustin First Baptist Church with Rev. Ernie Margwrath officiating. She was born April 15, 1941 in Dustin to Golden SMITH and Lena FRAIR Smith and died July 4 at Tulsa at the age of 59 years, two months and 19 days. She attended Dustin schools and married John J. Thomas in 1958 at Hanna. They moved to Sapulpa in the 1960's. Mrs. Thomas was a member of the Dustin First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, mother and three brothers, Jessie, Edward and Johnny Smith. Survivors include one son, Tandy and Pattie Thomas of Sapulpa; four daughters, Johnnie Faye Thomas of Sapulpa, Tamy E. MILLER of Mounds, Jackie S. DANELY of Kellyville and Kirk and Teresa HATHOWAY of Sapulpa; 14 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Arlie and Namoia Smith, Charles and Fredia Smith of Dustin and Gene and Rena SMITH of Talala; four sisters, Cora Lee and Tom ASHTON of Dustin, Lizziebeth LOOPER of Lamar, Wordna and Ernest MARTIN of Wichita, Ks., Maudine and Carrel JOHNSON of Eufaula; aunt Fern Frair of Konawa; and several other relatives. Grandsons served as pallbearers. Interment was in the Hanna Cemetery under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home of Wetumka. |
