Nancy Fern Thorpe was born April 20, 1944 in Sapulpa to Ransom and Dorothy Ann Anderson Moss.

She departed this life on Friday, September 22, 2000 in Oklahoma City at the age of 56 years.

Nancy attended Sapulpa schools. On September 15, 1986 in Gainesville, Texas, she and Marvin Dale Thorpe were united in marriage. Nancy had been a resident of Shamrock since 1994. She also had lived in Cushing. She was a retired, self-employed beautician.

Nancy attended the Oilton Baptist Church. She loved to spend time with her family. Gardening and fishing were hobbies she enjoyed. Nancy also loved to research genealogy and play bingo.

She is survived by her husband, Marvin Thorpe, of the home, four daughters, Wendy Anglim of Paden, Cindy Mize of Iowa City, Iowa, Sara Lea of Cushing and Stephanie Ryker of Drumright; three sons, Billy Taylor of Bristow, Wendell Taylor of Cushing and Steve Taylor of Cushing; two step children; five brothers, Veacheal L. Moss of Mineral Wells, Texas, Ransom Dean Moss of Sapulpa, Troy D. Moss of Beggs, Lonnie D. Moss of Sapulpa and Kenneth D. Moss of Bristow; six sisters, Stella M. Gray of Mineral Wells, Texas, Thelma L. Pickering of Sapulpa, Shirley A. Gibson of Sapulpa, Dixie G. Adney of Bristow, Linda S. Moss of Bristow and Randy J. Clark of Bristow; 28 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Chester L. Moss, Hurvell Alford Moss, Douglas McArthur Moss and Cliford “Jack” Moss and two sisters, Wanda J. Phillips Clark and Wilma Smith.

Graveside funeral services were to be held 10 am, Tuesday, September 26, 2000, at the Euchee Valley Cemetery. The Rev. James Lame will officiate.

Services are under the direction of Hutchins-Maple Funeral Home in Bristow.
