A two-car collision Friday afternoon has left one Sapulpa woman dead.
According to police reports, Estelle C. Tillery, 76, was killed when her car
collided with a vehicle driven by Michael James Buries, 19, Tulsa, about 6 p.m.
The collision occurred when Tillery, traveling east on Burnham Street, failed to
stop for a stop sign. She proceeded onto Main where her vehicle was struck in
the center by Burris’, who was traveling south.
The impact apparently caused head injuries to the woman, who was taken to
Bartlett Memorial Medical Center by Creek County Ambulance. She was pronounced
dead at the hospital.
The report added that Tillery had driven left of center before the impact.
Authorities are uncertain whether the cause of death was head injuries or
something which made her lose control of the car prior to impact.
