Mrs. Merlin (Norvella O.) Upshaw, 67, of Kellyville, died Thursday at St. John Medical Center, Tulsa following an extended illness.

Services will be 2 pm Monday at First Assembly of God with the Rev. Luis Torres officiating.

Burial will be at Green Hill Memorial Gardens under the direction of Owen Funeral Home.

She was born Sep 20, 1922, in East St. Louis, Ill., and lived in the Sapulpa area for the past 15 years.

Mrs. Upshaw was a member of the First Assembly of God and had been Sunday School teacher for the Willing Workers Class. She also worked for the Sapulpa Daily Herald in 1959-1960.

She married Merlin Upshaw on July 14, 1942, in Bellville, Ill.

Survivors include husband Merlin of the home; sone Charles Lee Upshaw of the home; daughters Geri Lee Hodges of Placentia, Calif., Joyce Watson of Sapulpa, Peggy Upshaw and Mary Hendricks of Tulsa, and Melinda Burrows of Latimer, Iowa; brothers Herman Weidemann of Altoona, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
