Samuel Worley Varner, 85, 121 E. Davis, died Thursday at Bartlett Memorial
Medial Center.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 am Monday at the Allen Freewill Baptist
Church with the Revs. Johnny Bilby, Charles Brazeal and Ivan Lopes officiating.
Burial will follow in Green Hills
Memorial Gardens under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
He was born May 19, 1906, in Buffalo, MO, and was a Sapulpa resident most of his
life. He was a retired oilfield worker and a member of the Allen Freewill
Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Edna, in 1985.
Survivors include wife, Peggy; son Kenneth Varner of Salina, Kan.; stepsons Paul
Ruth and Kenneth Ruth, both of Sapulpa; daughters Merla Spiller of Sapulpa and
Doris Turner of Kellyville; stepdaughters Doris Parham of Sapulpa and Helen
Davis of Kellyville; brothers Harold Varner of Kellyville, James William Varner
of Backton, Calif., and Hugh Varner of Sapulpa; sister Iva May Townsend of San
Dimas, Calif.; six grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; 8
great-grandchildren; and 15 step-great-grandchildren.
