JONESBORO, Ark.

Former Sapulpan Charles Franklin Vickers, 60, of Jonesboro, died Tuesday in Jonesboro.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at First Assembly of God, Sapulpa, with the Revs. Luis Torres and Hershel Martin officiating.

Burial will be at Freewill Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Mr. Vickers was born May 19, 1930 in Olive, and lived in the Sapulpa area most of his life.

He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a member of the American Legion and the V.F.W.

He retired from Liberty Glass Co. After working in the glass industry for 40 years. He was a ceramic engineer for the Arkansas Glass Co. at the time of his death.

He was preceded in death by a son, Andrew.

Survivors include wife, Doris June; son Gary Wayne Vickers of Sapulpa; daughters Vicki Turney and Candance Standley of Tulsa, Beth Kirkwood of Sapulpa and Susan Spring of Bixby; stepchildren Scott and Phil George, both of Midwest City, and John, Lisa and Greg George, all of Jonesboro; sister Rosie May Andrews of Drumright; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Charles Vickers were held today at the Assembly of God Church with the Revs. Luis Torres and Hershel Martin officiating.

Burial was in the Freewill Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral home.

Casketbearers were Vince Dafatta. Bobby Walker, John McClain, Johnny Hollar, Danny Reed and Billy Joe Hufft.

Honorary bearers were Steve Henderson, James Melton, LeRoy Gilbreath, Haney Simmons, Bob Galbreath, William Sorrell, Tommy Reed and Eugene Fillback.

Military Services were conducted by the Creek County Veterans organizations.
