Coy Lee Welch, Sr., 77, of Tulsa, died Thursday at Hillcrest Medical Center.

Funeral services were scheduled for 11 am Saturday, at Green Hills Memorial Gardens Chapel.

Burial followed at Green Hills Memorial Gardens under the direction of Fitzgerald Funeral Service of Tulsa.

Welch was born April 15, 1915, in Tuckerman, Ark., to Anderson King and Mollie Lewis Welch. His family moved to Wharton County, Texas, when he was young. In the late 1930's he moved to Oklahoma near Mounds, where he married Juanita Perkins on May 9, 1939, in Beggs. He was formerly employed as a truck driver for North American Van Lines, Inc., and Lee Way Freight Lines until his retirement in 1975. He was also a member of the teamsters Union. His hobbies included traveling with his wife, Juanita, throughout the United States and fishing for catfish.

He was preceded in death by one son, Arthur Andrew Welch and one daughter, Francis LaNelle McIntosh.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita; son, Coy Lee Welch, Jr., of Holdenville; daughters, Cary Lewis of Oklahoma City, Patricia Algrim of National City, Calif.; brother, Blackie Welch of Youngsville, La.; sisters, Lois Patterson of Beaumont, Texas, and Pauline Prosser of Claremore; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
