MRS. J. A. WETZEL, SAPULPA PIONEER, TAKEN BY DEATH

Mrs. Missouri Benton Wetzel, widow of the late John Austin Wetzel, died last night at her residence on East Bryan Avenue after a long illness. She was 87 years old.

Mrs. Wetzel was a pioneer settler in Sapulpa. She came to this community in 1902.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Charlie Hall and Miss Leota Wetzel of this city.

A half brother Harry Caton of University City, MO, also survives.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Christian church with Rev. J. W. McKinney, former Christian church pastor here officiating with the pastor of the church, Rev. Rolla Grimm, assisting. Burial will be made in the Sapulpa Cemetery.

A Drumright funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Wetzel was born in Buckland, Mo., July 15, 1856. She was married in April of 1878. She has been a member of the Christian church for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1911. Mr. Wetzel was a pioneer business man in Sapulpa.
