Ben Joe Wheeler, 85, Sapulpa, died Sunday, Sep 10, 1995 at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colo.
Services will be 2 pm Friday at Smith Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bill Gray officiating. Burial will be in
Green Hills Memorial Gardens, directed by Smith Funeral Home.
He was born June 4, 1910 in Woodville.
He married Edna Harrison in 1938.
He attended Murray State College, Southeastern State College and received a Masters degree and did post-graduate work at the University of Oklahoma. He lived in Sapulpa for 33 years and taught in Sapulpa schools for 13 years
before he retired in 1975. He was a Baptist.
He was a member of the O.E.A., N.E.A. and Sapulpa Educators. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a 50 year member of the Kingston Lodge and the Guthrie
Constery.
He was a member of the Lions Club, a charter member of the Kingston Chamber of Commerce and had served as a principal.
Survivors include his wife, Edna, of the home; a daughter, Sue Carborne, Denver, Colo.; a brother, Lawrence Wheeler, Kinston; two sisters, Peggy Seal, Bakersfield, Calif., and Jerri
McCurn, San Diego, Calif.; and three
grandchildren.

Services for Ben J. Wheeler were scheduled for 2 pm today in the Smith Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bill Gray officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Memorial Gardens, directed by Smith Funeral Home.
Casket bearers will be Charles Henry, Tommie Jacobs, Jason Caldwell, James Caldwell, Dale Mann and Clois
Huffer. Honorary bearers were Jack Hall, Earl Young, Bill Myers, Don Cross, Moon Mullen and Tom Sheriff.
