Muriel Florence Whinery, 77, of Sapulpa, died Wednesday, Nov 29, 1995, at a
Tulsa Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 2 pm Saturday in Smith Funeral Home Chapel. The
Rev. Dale Honeycutt will officiate. Interment will be in Floral Haven Cemetery
in Broken Arrow with Smith Funeral Home of Sapulpa in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Whinery was born May 19, 1918 in Roial, OK. She moved to Sapulpa from
Kansas in 1941. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
She was a member of Rebecca Lodge No. 42 and was past noble grand of the
Rebecca Lodge and past grand chief of the Pythians Sisters.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lloyd Whinery; a brother,
Owen Burns; and a sister Lois Payne.
Survivors include eight children, William Dean Whinery Sr., Phillip Eugene
Whinery, Sandra Kay Dickens, Anna Jo Harvey, Ronald Wayne Whinery Sr., Glenda
Jenette Glenn, Linda Lenette Newton and Michael Louis Whinery; two half-sisters,
Jean McCaslin of McIntosh, NM and Fay Albritton of Payson, AZ; 23 grandchildren
and 35 great-grandchildren.
The family will headquarter at 719 S. Birch.

Services for Muriel F. Whinery were held Saturday in the Smith Funeral Home
Chapel with the Rev. Del Hunnicutt officiating. Burial was in Floral Heaven
Cemetery in Broken Arrow.
Casketbearers were Butch Glenn, Wayne Dickens, William Dean Whinery, Phillip
Eugene Whinery, Ronald Wayne Whinery and Michael Louis Whinery.
Mrs. Whinery, a Sapulpa resident since 1941, died Wednesday at St. Francis
Hospital in Tulsa. Smith Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
