CLAREMORE - Funeral services were held today for former Sapulpa teacher Daisy Lucille White, 85, at Nowata First Baptist Church with the Revs. Larry DeLay and Dick Sanders officiating.

Burial was at Nowata Memorial Park under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Services, Nowata.

Ms. White, of Claremore, died Sunday at Claremore Regional Hospital.

She was born Nov 3, 1905, at Marysville, TX and moved to Cooperton when she was a baby. She also lived in Duncan and Binger as a child.

Ms. White was a graduate of Southwestern State University at Weatherford and began her teaching career at a country school near Scott. She later taught at Nowata, Guthrie, Davenport and Sapulpa, where she retired after 43 years of teaching.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Sapulpa, Kappa Kappa Iota, and the National and Oklahoma Retired Teachers Associations.

Suvivors include brother Arlie White of Nowata and Ulis F. "Pat" White of Claremore; and sister Alice Hash of Desert Hot Springs, CA.
