A funeral service for Pastor James Walter White will be at 10 am Saturday in the First Baptist Church, Glenpool, with burial in Bixby Cemetery. Pastor William F. Peck, Grace Assembly, Bristow, will officiate.

Arrangements are by Leonard Funeral Home & Chapel, Bixby.

White, 80, died Wednesday in Sapulpa. He was born May 3, 1913, in Kansas City, Mo., to Calvin and Mary White.

He moved to this area in September, 1965, from Leavenworth, Kan., and with the exception of seven years when he pastored a church in Tucumcari, N.M., he lived in this area permanently.

He began his ministry in 1965 in Cushing, and was still pastoring at Grace and Truth in Okmulgee at the time of his death. He was a member of the Ministerial Alliance of Mounds, and also the Full Gospel Grace Fellowship in Tulsa.

He married Alice M. White on July 27, 1981 in Depew. She survives him.

Other survivors include seven daughters, Dolores Johnson, Albany, Ga.; Joyce Meyer of North Platte, Neb.; Nancy Moore, Oklahoma City; LaVerna Hancock, Mounds; Judy Richards, Kansas City, Kan.; Judy Hinshaw, Depew and Sandra Taylor, Enid.

Seven sons, Wes Taylor, Glenpool; Ronald White, California; Mike White, Lincoln, Neb.; George Hintz, Leavenworth, Kan.; James Hintz, Phoenix, Ariz.; David Hintz, Leavenworth, Kan. and Danny Hintz of Sapulpa; one sister, Frankie Brune, Leavenworth, Kan.; 29 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, James Walter White Jr., in 1972.
