Clarence Williams, 93, 1240 E. Jackson, died Thursday at Bartlett Memorial Medical Center.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church with the Revs. David Houchin and T. Howard Allen officiating.

Burial will be at Green Hills Memorial Gardens under the direction of Owen Funeral Home.

He was born Sept. 6, 1896, near Dallas, Texas. Mr. Williams married Opal Ford on April 12, 1924, in Sapulpa and the couple moved to Sapulpa in 1949.

He was preceded in death by sons Clarence Williams Jr., Johnnie Dale Williams and Jackie Dean Williams, daughter Peggy Wilson and great-grandchild Erin Haught.

Survivors include wife Opal of the home; brothers Lance Williams of Denison, Texas, Ben Williams, Howard Williams of Sherman, Texas and Gene Williams; sisters Wanda Thompson of Burnet, Texas and Rosa Walton of Modesto, Cal.; seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

The family will headquarter at the Williams home 1240 E. Jackson.

Mr. Williams retired as a retired oil field worker for Sun Oil Company in Tulsa in 1961. He was a veteran of WWI and was one of Creek County’s oldest war veterans.

He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion, he also was a Baptist and active in the community.

Casket bearers will be Gary Williams, David Williams, Carl Williams, Darrell Williams, Stephen Williams, and Jim Haught.
