Charles “Bus” Wilson Jr. was born Aug. 7, 1921,
in Sapulpa to Minnie and Charley Wilson.
Services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan.
31, at Green Hill Memorial
Chapel with the Rev.
Darrel Owen officiating, and a eulogy given by R.C.
Rush.
Charles graduated from Sand Springs in 1939 and
married Vera (Lea) Walker in 1942 in Claremore. They
celebrated their 64th anniversary on Sept. 10, 2006.
Charles served in World War II with the 15th Air
Force in Italy. He earned the rank of Tech Sergeant
and was a lifetime member of DAV.
He was a restaurant owner with his wife and operated
Bud’s Drive-In and Lea’s Grill and Broken Arrow. He
also worked at Lee C. Moore, Douglas Aircraft and
was retired from Hasco.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Minnie and
Charley Wilson; four sisters, May Rush, Violet
Fosburg, Agnes Self and Pauline Wilson; five
brothers, Earnest, Clarence, Laurance, Wayne and
Sonny; and the special love of his life, grandon
Matthew E. York.
Survivors include his wife, Vera Lea (Walker)
Wilson; brother G. E. Wilson of California; many
nieces, nephews and friends, including two very
special people — Roy Charles Rush and his wife,
Shirley, who have been there for us for several
loving and caring years.
