Former Sapulpa resident Mamie Galloway Witherspoon, 76, Los Angeles, died Saturday in Sapulpa.

Services will be Monday at Mount Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Wilson Pike officiating.

Burial will be at North Heights Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell’s Chapel of Sapulpa.

She was born April 29, 1913. Mrs. Witherspoon lived in Sapulpa from 1962-68 and had returned to Sapulpa to visit her children.

Survivors include sons Lawrence Galloway of Los Angeles, and James Jackson of Kansas City, Mo.; daughters Beverly Bennett and Shirley Young, both of Tulsa; Francis Howard of Cerrita, Calif., Wanda Martin of Glendale, Ariz., Charlezetta Stone of Aguora Hills, Calif.; sisters Mary Thompson of Beggs and Helen Tyson of Compton, Calif.; brothers Riley Nash of Beggs and Anis Nash Jr., of Tulsa; 30 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.
