J. B. Wood, 74, 1503 Edgewood Lane, died Thursday at Bartlett Memorial Medical Center.

Services will be 11 am Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Thomas P. Eggebeen and Larry Jones officiating.

Burial will be at Green Hills Memorial Gardens under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

He was born March 9, 1915, in Tahlequah, Okla., and moved to Sapulpa 50 years ago from Glenpool.

He married Esther Snyder on April 8, 1939, in Claremore.

Mr. Wood was a Frisco Railroad engineer for 36 years. He retired in 1977.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Masonic Lodge #170, 30's Club, and Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.

Mr. Wood was preceded in death by a daughter, Dana Wood Maggard, in 1988.

Survivors include wife Esther; son Jim of Grand Rapids, Mich.; brother Frank Darrell of Jenks; sisters Helen Vowell of Glenpool, Evelyn Arning of Broken Arrow and Mary Jean Martindale of Howe, Okla., and two grandchildren.
