Marie Wooden, 84, of Sapulpa died Wednesday at her home. 

Funeral services are planned for 2 p.m. Friday in Sapulpa's First Baptist Church with the Rev. David Houchin officiating. Burial will be in South Heights Cemetery

Mrs. Wooden was born March 26, 1911 in Carmen. She has been a Sapulpa resident since 1927. She married B.F. Wooden on Oct. 2, 1933 in Sapulpa. She was retired from Stuart Building Center and was a member of First Baptist Church, Friends of the Library, the Sapulpa Reading Club and the Thursday Bridge Club. She was a past president of the Salvation Army Auxiliary and a member of the Women's Chamber of Commerce. Mrs. Wooden was a recipient of the Good Neighbor of the Year Award and served as chairperson of the memorial committee of the local chapter of the American Cancer Society for 20 years. 

Survivors include her husband, B.F. Wooden of Sapulpa, a son, William Wooden, Dallas, Texas; and one grandson. The family requests donations be made to the Hospice of Green Country.

Funeral services for Marie A. Wooden were scheduled to be held at 2 pm today at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. David Houchin officiating. 

Burial was scheduled to follow at the South Heights Cemetery. 

Casketbearers included Jack Hall, Bob Olive, Charles Seals, Ray Schwer, Preston Stamps and H. K. Jones. Smith Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
