HARRISON, Ark. - Former Kiefer resident Lela Smith Younes, 77, of Harrison, Ark., died Dec 13, at North Arkansas Medical Center.

Funeral services were held Dec 16 in the Christeson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Bryant officiating.

Burial followed in Maplewood Cemetery, Harrison.

She was born Feb 9, 1914, in Chanute, Kans., and was raised in the Kiefer area. She was a retired floor supervisor for the Levi Strauss Manufacturing Co. and a recipient of a 4,000-hour pin from North Arkansas Medical Center. She had lived in Harrison for 48 years. Mrs. Younes was a member of the First Baptist Church of Harrison and the NAMC.

Survivors include son Van T. Younes of Harrison, daughters Virginia Bryant of St. Louis, Mo., Betty Watson of Noel, Mo., Dorothy Hunt of Harrison; sister Lorene Rice of Tulsa; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
