Orie William Young, 78, 12 S. Walnut, Sapulpa, died Sunday at his home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 am Wednesday, at Church of God located on Frankoma Road with Bro. Richard Madden and Bro. Don McIntosh officiating.

Burial will follow at South Heights Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

He was born July 24, 1914, in Sapulpa. A lifelong Sapulpa resident, he was a barber for 38 years and a pastor in the Church of God. Mr. Young served as pastor in Shawnee and Coffeyville, Kan. He attended Sapulpa Schools. He married Dorothy McGuire on May 15, 1937 in Sapulpa.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; son, Sgt. Charles Young of Sapulpa; brothers, Vernon Young of Rogers, Ark., and Dick Young of Anderson, Ind.; sisters, Cleo Cope and Joyce Henzie, both of Las Vegas, Nev., and Normal Lee Welch of California; and one grandchild.

Funeral services for Orie W. Young were held this morning in the Frankoma Road Church of God with Brother Richard Madden and Brother Don McIntosh officiating.

Burial followed at South Heights Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Serving as casket bearers were Terry Madden, Richard Madden, Jr., Andy Madden, Tim Madden, John Madden, Sr., and John Madden, Jr.

Mr. Young, a lifelong Sapulpa resident, died Sunday at his home.
