Otis Dean Young, 56, of Mounds, died Thursday in Mounds.

Graveside services are scheduled for 2 pm Monday at Duck Creek Cemetery with Rev. John Hess officiating.

Burial will follow under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

He was born Jan 30, 1936, at Mounds, and was an area resident all his life. He was retired from Lone Star Schools where he was a teacher. He was a graduate of Northeastern Oklahoma State University and a member of the National and Oklahoma Education Associations.

Survivors include wife Judy; son Scott Young of Tahlequah; daughter Deanna Newberry of Mounds; stepsons Jeff Sanden of Glenpool and Mike Wescott of Wisconsin; sister Maxine Gibson of Sapulpa; and two granddaughters.

Graveside services for Otis Dean Young were held today at Duck Creek Cemetery with the Rev. John Hess officiating.

Burial followed under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home.

Honorary casketbearers were David Thompson, Frank Adams, Bill Taylor, J.W. Harvill, Jeff Sanden, Mike Wescott, Sam Barrett, Fred Caudle Sr. and Fred Caudle Jr.

Mr. Young, a lifelong area resident, died Thursday in Mounds.
