DIES IN CRASH
Sapulpa Business Man Is
Killed While Returning
From Drumright.
SAPULPA, Okla., Nov. 4.--Walter Bovaird,
62 years old, Sapulpa business man, died shortly after midnight
Friday from injuries received when the car in which he was
returning home from the Shawnee-Sapulpa football game at Shawnee
ran into a ditch and turned over on the road about four miles
from Drumright.
Bovaird died a few minutes after the
accident while being brought to the hospital here. His chest was
badly crushed by the steering wheel when he was pinned beneath
the heavy car. Lawrence McCrady, captain of the Sapulpa team,
and Kenneth McKinn, one of the players, and several others
jumped or were thrown from the car and escaped injury.
Bovaird was in the oil well supply
business here and was on uncle of
William M. Bovaird, president of the Bovaird Oil Weil Supply
company of Tulsa. He leaves besides a brother, his widow, who is
said to be visiting In Pittsburgh, Pa.
