Shirley Compton, 66, died Thursday in Las Vegas.

She was born Feb. 3, 1935, in Sapulpa, Okla. A pit clerk, she was a 24-year resident of Las Vegas.

She is survived by her husband, Joe; and son, David, both of Oklahoma; daughter, Cherie Thompson of Texas; brothers, Jimmie Carter and John Carter; and sister, Nancy Hoskins, all of Oklahoma.

Memorial services will be in Oklahoma. Hites Funeral Home handled arrangements.
