Ed Cruzan 1946 - 2010
Ed Cruzan, age 64, of Warner, OK, passed away on July 21, 2010,
in Muskogee, OK. Ed was born May 31, 1946, in Gainesville, MO,
to Tom and Kay Cruzan.
Ed graduated from Drumright High School, received a bachelor’s
degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, and a
Master’s degree in Educational Counseling from East Central
University. Ed taught school at Kingfisher, Shamrock, TX,
Okemah, Holdenville, Chisholm High School in Enid, Boise City,
Warner, and Hilldale. Coaching football was his life’s passion
and he enjoyed his time spent with the young men he coached and
even coached as an assistant last year at Midway High School
after retiring from teaching. Ed also enjoyed fishing and the
times spent doing so are cherished memories for his friends and
family who love him, and will dearly miss him.
Ed was preceded in death by his father,
Tom Cruzan; and his father-in-law, Calvin Holloway.
He is survived by his wife, Marsha of the home in Warner; his
mother, Kay Cruzan at the Countryside Nursing Home in Warner;
his daughter, Miranda Schneider and her husband, Bryan of Broken
Arrow; his son, Lafe Cruzan and his wife Kari of Oklahoma City;
grandchildren, Marek, Bret, Hannah, and Kade; brother Tommy
Dorsey of Cushing; and mother-in-law, Helen Holloway of Warner;
as well as many other friends, family, and loved ones.
A funeral service for Ed will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, July 24,
2010, at the First Baptist Church of Warner. Interment will
follow at Bennett Cemetery under the care of Hampton Mortuary.
