Gerald
David Fisher, 69, of Sapulpa passed from this life Saturday,
July 3, 2010 in Tulsa. He was born December 15, 1940 in Sand
Springs, the son of Claude and Lois Fisher.
Gerald was a retired welder and enjoyed
going to the casino with his wife, Carolyn. The two were
regulars in Sand Springs and would occasionally sign-up for
Vera-Lee bus trips when they could. Overall, if Gerry and
Carolyn were together, they were where they wanted to be and
enjoying life.
He also loved to spend time with his grandkids. Grandpa Gerry
spent many of his weekends with Carolyn watching Andra playing
soccer or Bradley playing football or Alissa playing basketball.
In recent years the two enjoyed watching Gunner playing soccer
and football. Gerald would then usually go home and give Piper a
snack or two before relaxing.
Gerald graduated from Sapulpa High
School in 1959. He married the love of his life, Carolyn, in
1963. The two raised their sons in the Pretty Water area for the
past 40 years.
Gerald was preceded in death by both his
parents; brothers, James D. “J.D” Fisher, Chester E. “Gene”
Fisher, John Richard Fisher; sisters, Mary E. “Sis” Warner,
Leona F. Goad, Billie Lois Fisher; and great granddaughter
Brandi Barker.
His survivors include his loving wife of
47 years, Carolyn (Ellenburg) Fisher of the Sapulpa home; sons
Wes Fisher and wife, Melody of Sapulpa and Farley Fisher of
Sapulpa; sister, Doris Kitchens and husband, Milton of Sand
Springs; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and his
dog, Piper.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1
p.m., Saturday, July 10, 2010 at the Heath-Griffith Funeral
Chapel at 1823 W. 51 St. in Tulsa. Rusty David will be the
speaker.
