Edna Irene
'Renee' Olson
On July 5, 1938, Andrew and Mary Syko
were blessed with the birth of Edna Irene in Winber, Penn. On
April 13, 1956, she wed Werner Edwin Olson Jr. in Virginia. On
March 9, 2002, Edna ' Irene "Renee" Olson went home to join God.
She spent 13 years supporting her
husband while he served in the United States Army and was a
nurse for more than 30 years. She was blessed with an abundance
of friends and close colleagues. She had a passion for
scholastics, reading and crocheting. She was always cooking and
baking for friends and family.
God called home her father, Andrew, her
husband, Werner "0llie," and her grandson, Michael, before her.
Left to carry on her legacy is her
mother, Mary Syko; her brother, Jack Syko; two sisters, Mary
Potts and Debbie McGee, all of Kan.; and her brother David Syko
of Florida.
She was the matriarch of a family that
included a son and daughter-in-law, Gerald "Vito" and Janie
Olson of Tulsa; a daughter, Linda Olson of Alaska; a son and
daughter-in-law, John and Linda Olson of California: a daughter
and son-in-law, Laura and Daniel Sullivan Sr.; and a daughter,
Debra Lestrod, all of Sapulpa.
She was blessed with grandchildren Julie, Lyndal, Justin, Erik,
Tara, Jonathan, Jessica, Jerald James, "J.J.", Sarah, Travis,
Larissa, Lacy, Wes, Daniel Jr., Tara, Amy, Brian, Lauren,
Justin, Jami, Chelsy and Donella. She was doubly blessed with
great-grandchildren, Christo pher, Chrystal, Tara, Bricen,
Payton, Paige, Sara, Alexander, Blaize, Alexzander and two more
on the way.
Viewing will be at Smith Funeral Home in
Sapulpa Tuesday, March 12, 2002, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Services
will be Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at 10 a.m. Burial will be at
Fort Gibson National Cemetery.
Donations will be greatly appreciated in
Edna's name to the American Diabetes Association, American
Cancer Society, American Heart Association and the Multiple
Sclerosis Society.
Serviving as as casketbeaer be Brian
Olson, Justin Inman, Jerald "J.J." Olson, Lyndal Beasley,
Christopher Thompson and Daniel Sullivan Sr.
Honorary bearers will be Travis Brown, Jack Syko, David Potts
and David Syko.
Smith Funeral Home of Sapulpa is in charge of arrangements.
