William Thomas Pickering, age 69, was born Aug. 13, 1932 in El Dorado, Kan. and went to the Lord on Saturday, March 16, 2002, at 7:27 a.m.
He was born to J.D. and Dorothy Pickering and grew up in Fayetteville, Ark.

William was a corporal in the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War for three years. He worked in heavy equipment for many years.

William is survived by his wife, Thelma Pickering of the home; two daughters, Regina Hays of Tulsa and Cheri Babb of Tulsa; and a son, David Pickering of Vancouver, Wash.; stepsons Roy Dee and Jack Matney, both of Sapulpa; and stepdaughter, Brenda Sasson of Kiefer. Together William and Thelma have 11 grandchildren and three great- grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 pm on Wednesday, March 20, 2002, at the Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will be at Green Hill Cemetery in Sapulpa.

The family has entrusted the care of the services to the directors at Green Hill Funeral Home.
