Elva Geneva Turner was born Dec. 29, 1916 to Claude Albert and Minnie Guinn. She passed away Wednesday Nov. 12, 2003 at her home in Kellyville. Elva moved to Creek County from Collinsville as a small child. She was a Sapulpa and Kellyville resident all of her life. She spent many years working for Hissom Center in Sand Springs and the last few years as a senior companion. Elva like to travel, play bingo and fish, and she especially loved to play cards. She was a bright spot in many lives. She loved to fuss over her children and grandchildren. She will be missed greatly by all who knew her.

Elva was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Jim Turner; brothers Floyd Guinn and Jessie Guinn; sister Ethel Rankin; his daughter and son-in-law Donna and Jerry Long, of the home; stepson Jack and his wife, Doris Turner; stepdaughters Marna and her husband, J.E. Robinson and Keight an her husband, Bill Logan; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special "thank you" to Janie Guinn, her traveling bingo and card playing buddy.

Funeral services for Elva have been set for 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, 2003 in the Smith Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Taylor officiating.

Interment will follow in the Kellyville Cemetery. Serving as casket bearers will be grandsons Pete Long, Shorty Long and Gary Turner, great-grandson Chea Long and great-nephews Terry Lytle and James Scott.

Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will headquarter at the home of Donna and Jerry Long in Kellyville.
