Jimmy Dean Vance, Carney, Ok, joined his
Lord Aug. 13, 1996. He was born Apr. 13, 1929 in Sapulpa , Ok.
to George & Velma (Tucker) Vance. Attended Ponca City H.S. where
he finished his sr. year after serving in Guam in WWII as a
Corporal in the US Marine Corps. During his full life, Jimmy
worked in the heat & air business homebuilding. He worked
overseas in Saudi Arabia, Venezuela & Kwajalein. He coached
girls softball, boys baseball, enjoyed racquetball and played
softball with the Stillwater Seniors. Of all his accomplishment
and awards, his most treasured honor was being Deacon at Carney
Christian Church.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Georgia
Mae Catherine (Owens) Vance of Carney. He was beloved father of
Michele Mobbs of Carney, Cheryl Walton of Dibble, Jenna Marie
Vance (deceased), Tami Vance, Dallas, Tx, Tara Vance of Carney,
Georgia "Gigi" Chappell of Dibble. He had 9 grandchildren, Angi,
Jeremy, Cami, Amy, Steven, Jimmy George, Joey, Jacob & Kristen;
5 great grandchildren, Haylie, Joel, Justice, Alexandra &
Dalton; 4 sisters, Leta Forsythe, Winona, Mn, Kalyn Pierce of
Tulsa, Judy Lattie & Sharon Wallace, of Broken Arrow.
Predeceased by his parents.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Carney
Christian Church. Interment at the Carney Cemetery under the
direction of Strode Funeral Home. A flag presentation will be
made by the Marine Corps at the cemetery. Memorials may be made
to the Carney Christian Church Bldg. Fund, PO Box 9, Carney, Ok
74832.
